HAVS Risk Management

40th UK Conference on Human Response to Vibration

First may we give our hearty, and very well deserved congratulations to Karolyn Toner of HAVS Risk Management for a very well constructed and presented paper on HAVS–Controlling the Risk (a pilot study), the paper was presented to a packed conference hall for the 40th UK Conference on Human Response to Vibration at the Marriott Hotel, Liverpool,13th September 2005, hosted by the HSE.

We must also give our grateful thanks to Chris Simpson, Richard Welbourn & Mel Watson from Leeds City Council for their valuable assistance in the production of the paper.

The presentation was very well received with the of session turning into quite a “lively” event

The Health & Safety Laboratories reported interesting findings in comparing manufacturers test data with ‘in-use’ vibration emissions and Hilti GB Ltd highlighted research they had conducted to calculate safe vibration exposures when drilling holes

Copies of our paper, presentation and action plan for implementing the legislation are available here for you to read along with a number of the other studies carried out, by following this link….
